Climate

The climate of Kefalonia is characterized by many rainfalls with mild winters, plenty of sunshine and a dry summer. The climate of Kefalonia is ranked by sea or subtropical Mediterranean zone. These areas combine the thermoregulatory role of the sea with the other advantages of the Mediterranean climate, while avoiding pesky characteristics both of ipeirotikotitas and the okeanikotitas. From a bioclimatic point of view, the climate of the island corresponds to the Mediterranean zone, sclerophyllous vegetation. Kefalonia has hot, sunny summers and mild rainy winters. It can occasionally snow on the island. It is very wet in the wettest month of December when 115 mm of rain can fall. Conversely, it can be very dry in July when usually there is no or little rainfall. Rain in the summer can usually be seen, but the dry air prevents it from being felt as it is evaporated before it reaches the ground.

For the record: Clay is one of the oldest cosmetics in humanity. It is believed that Cleopatra urged her lover Mark Antony to conquer the Dead Sea with the sole purpose of using the beneficial mud.

The Queen of Sheba, taking into account clay’s unique properties, used it everywhere, on her face, body and hair.

Clay, unclogs pores, removes dead skin cells, stops oily faces, moisturizes and tightens skin and is a cosmetic for all skin types.
